Solar module production capacity to rise 400% by FY25: CRISIL
India’s solar module manufacturing capacity is set to rise almost 400% by FY2021, according to ratings agency CRISIL.
The trend is projected via strong demand, favourable policies, likely improvement in energy efficiency and price competitiveness.
The imposition of a 40% custom duty on imported modules and production linked incentive (PLI) schemes are likely to eliminate the existing price gap between local and imported modules.
