Four new power grids to alleviate Power shortage in UP

Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (UPPCL) is to set up power grids in four UP districts– Rampur, Sambhal, Meerut and Sindhauli. 765 KV transmission lines will be setup in Meerut and Rampur and 400 KV in Sambhal and Sindhauli with a budget of 115 crore.

This decision was taken by the Uttar Pradesh government in a cabinet meeting to address issues of power overloading. These grids will be set up with Public Private Partnerships (PPPs), while all existing grids have been government owned.


BSES exploring peer-to-peer Solar power trading in Delhi

BSES Rajdhani Power Limited (BRPL) is exploring the launch of a blockchain based peer-to-peer (consumer-to-consumer) power trading platform on a trial basis. The idea is for consumers with solar rooftop plants to be able to sell their excess solar power to other consumers

“The pilot project will initially be carried out among a select group of gated community solar consumers in Dwarka who generate around 5-6 MW of solar power”, a spokesperson for BSES said.
