DISCOMs’ outstanding dues to GENCOs fall 15% to Rs 82,305 cr in May
Total outstanding dues owed by DISCOMs to generation companies fell 15.25% year-on-year to Rs 82,305 crore in May 2021, from Rs 97,111 in May 2020. This, according to the PRAAPTI portal.
Outstanding dues have started seeing a reduction since February 2021 after increases month-on-month and year-on-year.
The total overdue amount, which was not cleared even after 45 days of grace period, stood at Rs 68,762 crore in May 2021 as against Rs 84,691 crore in the same month a year ago.
However, the total dues and total overdue amount have increased month-on-month from April 2021.
