521MW of rooftop solar capacity added in India in Q2 2021, highest in a quarter
India added 521MW of rooftop solar capacity in the second quarter of 2021, a 53% quarter-on-quarter increase, compared to 341MW installed in Q1 2021. This, according to a report by Mercom India Research.
Rooftop capacity addition was also up 517% year-on-year, with only 85MW added in Q2 2020. However, the COVID shutdowns were a driver for the low capacity added last year.

However, smaller MSME’s still need to be incentivised to drive adoption of rooftop solar further.
