Coronavirus crisis: Govt. to allow renewable projects construction amidst lockdown

The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has announced revised guidelines regarding lockdown measures to be taken by ministries and departments throughout the country. In these guidelines, the MHA has allowed the construction of renewable energy projects.

However, these measures are to be implemented by local authorities and thus, will not apply to designated containment zones.


Coronavirus crisis: Power demand dips by 12-26% in Maharashtra

According to MSEDCL statistics, overall power demand in Maharashtra has dipped by 12% during morning peak load and by 26% during evening in light of the lockdown imposed to contain the coronavirus pandemic.

Normal peak load demand is 18,000MW, however the morning peak load demand was 15,890MW while the evening peak load demand was only 13,195MW.

As expected, residential demand has been steady while industrial and commercial demand has dipped.
